I seem to keep missing your show by virtue of having 3 youngsters, who are getting "story-time" at the time you are on. I have listened through the Archives and you are just heavensent in your energy and your helpfulness and guidance! Keep up your phenominal work!
Shamanism is sometimes a long road. I've been actively studying it for over 13 years and it's only been a few months since my Spirit Guides have told me to expand it to help people that are close to me (relatives, close friends and tribe memebers.) Like many other spiritual paths, It's the journey that counts. Since the shaman picked you out not only to be a pipe holder, Your first studies should be with those shamans who work in the Native American traditions.
I recommend you first find someone who knows a lot about Native American traditions and is willing to teach you. Your first studies may be to learn the basic traditions and the duties and requirements of becoming a pipe holder. It is very likely that you were a pipe holder in another life. If this is so you will find these studies will be easily absorbed, understood and used.
Being a pipe holderrequires dedication and great character, because pipe holders are the keepers of traditions. Learn about the 7 Generations and how it is enacted at this time. I recommend you check out International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers at http://grandmotherscouncil.org/. Many of them are Native Americans. They all work together in support of saving their traditions and to fufill the Seven Generations dream.
